6 Settings to check after installing Cash Register Express

These are some of the most common settings that need checked or unchecked after you set up your pcAmerica software for a retail store.

We will only be working with the “Invoice Settings” screen today.

  1. “Use Mix N Match”  This is for items that have a special price if you buy 2 or more. ex. $1.79 each or 2 for $3.00.
  2. “Prompt Cashier ID” At the end of each sale, if check marked  this will automatically log the clerk off. Not really desirable in the normal retail environment. Mainly for Restaurants when being used by multiple servers.
  3.  “Stock Prompt” If checked a pop up  warns of low stock levels. Great for retail stores but very annoying and time consuming for clerks as they are usually not in charge of inventory levels.
  4.  “Idle Log Out” used instead of “Prompt Cashier ID” Set the time in minutes that you would like the system to sign the clerk out automatically.
  5. “Exempt Tax form Foodstamp Purchases” Check this if your state has tax on food. It will deduct tax from foodstample items when paying with EBT card. Check your local/state requirements.
  6.  “Log Exceptions for:” I highly recommend checking these. Especially if you have multiple clerks. Set all clerks with their own login name and password and you will be able to run reports and see if anyone is running unusually high amounts of “NO Sales”,”Discounts” or “Line Deletions” helps with lose prevention. In reporting look for “Inventory exceptions reports”
